Sire Wellington

Wellington is by the preferent stallion Nimmerdor , ¨Stallion of the Century¨. Wellington's keur dam, Patty, was sired by the preferent stallion Lucky Boy xx. Lucky Boy xx ranks very high in the stallion jumping index because of the fantastic successes of Calypso, The Freak, Van Gogh and Medrano. Patty's dam is ster Eritama, daughter of Romeo, also a preferent stallion and regular producer of splendid movers. Wellington is full brother to the approved stallion Elberton, and half-brother to Haciende (out of Wellington's dam Patty) who was 3-year old National Champion Mare in 1992.

Wellington proved to be a true representative of his ancestry, and achieved a high dressage and jumping index at an early age. He passed the performance test in 1983, becoming Reserve Champion. The KWPN jury gave him nines for training behavior, stable manners and temperament, as well as 8.5 for the two jumping components. Wellington made his sport debut in the 1984/85 season, placing 3rd in the national stallion competition. He came second in the same competition in 1985/86 and in 1987/88 won. He also performed as an international show jumper and at advanced ZZ level dressage. He was granted the predicate ¨keur¨ for his breeding efforts, producing a considerable number of ster and keur mares, and several approved KWPN stallions.
